The ingredients needed to make Apple Pie:
  1. Get 6 cups apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  2. Make ready 1/2 to 3/4 cups sugar
  3. Take 1 tablespoon flour
  4. Make ready 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  5. Prepare 2 cups flour
  6. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. Take 2/3 cups shortening
  8. Prepare 6 to 7 tablespoon cold water
Instructions to make Apple Pie:
  1. To make filling: Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine apples, sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. To make crust: In another mixing bowl, combine the 2 cups of flour and salt, then put in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cold water over mixture, mix gently. Repeat until dough is moistened, then divide dough in half.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, flatten one ball of dough with hands. Use a rolling pin to roll to a diameter larger than the pie plate. Loosely wrap crust around rolling pin and transfer to pie plate. Add filling to pie plate.
  4. Roll remaining dough for top crust. Place in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
  5. Once done, cool pan on a wire rack. Enjoy the sliced pie with ice cream or whipped cream!
